2 Days with the Dodecanese Flotilla
In June 2019 I joined Seafarer's Dodecanese Flotilla for two days exploring the islands North of Kos.
Having arrived on the overnight ferry from Athens I took a local ferry to the island of Patmos where I joined the flotilla as they were arriving. We were then treated to an excellent group meal before a well-earned sleep. The next day saw a trip to the monastery of St John the Theologian and the cave of revelation (reportedly were some of the bible was written).
From here we set sail to in a stiff Northerly Breeze to the island of Leros. Having videoed a few boats leaving the bay we set about chasing the rest of the fleet including a bit of a race with a Harmony 34. After a decent distance, we arrived in Pantelli and helped the flotilla raft up before dinghying ashore for some dinner and drinks. The next morning I was up early taking some photos of the boats before a breakfast briefing and waving goodbye to the fleet for the free sail day.
